MDV Group supports art project
Karlstein/Aschaffenburg. Students of the Friedrich-Dessauer-Gymnasium, Aschaffenburg, were elated when they heard the news that the MDV Group from Karlstein will be providing them with free material.
As part of their P-Seminar in Art, students had to design stage imagery for a special concert. An assortment of different pictures had to be designed for a performance of “The Armed Man” by Karl Jenkins, which took place in Aschaffenburg’s town hall. The challenge was that the pictures were only allowed to be painted on flame-retardant material.
Tyvek®* is a lightweight and simultaneously highly tear-resistant PE non-woven material manufactured by DuPontTM and processed and distributed by MDV. MDV is a specialist company for paper and film coatings; with its team of ca. 85 employees, it is leading company in the European speciality coatings industry. MDV’s core competence includes coating papers and films for the most diverse applications within the graphics industry.
There was no hesitation when it came to donating the large sheets of material with MDV’s flame-retardant coating. As MDV’s managing directors, Bernd Reichert and Ashok Krishna, emphasised: “If we have the opportunity to support valuable regional projects, we will gladly do what we can”.
After a successful performance to a sold-out audience, art teacher Harald Germer thanked both the managing directors in the name of his creative protégés for their generous support: “These days, it is no longer a matter of course that we get help from a company so easily”.
The original designs, painted on Tyvek®*, have been framed and now decorate the corridors of MDV Group’s headquarters in Karlstein. You can find further information on MDV Group and its products, coatings and substrates online: www.mdv-group.de.
